Effective Home Remedies for Alopecia Areata

Approximately 4.6 million people in the United States struggle with Alopecia Areata. And an autoimmune disorder that occurs; when the immune system accidentally attacks your hair follicles and, as a result, hair loss on the scalp with or other various parts of the body can be affected.

While there is currently no cure for alopecia areata (and no medication is approved for its treatment). Some people turn to a series of natural remedies and remedies in an attempt to control the condition.

Research on natural remedies

Korean Red Ginseng

Hypnosis

Several few investigations indicate that hypnosis may be beneficial for people with alopecia, although the benefit may be in well-being rather than hair regrowth, which were discover in some studies, not others

A study published in 2011 in the Swedish journal Acta Durmeto-Venerologica also found that hypnosis may benefit people with alopecia areata. For this study, 21people with Alopecia Arita received 10sessions of hypnosis over six months.

By the end of the study, participants showed improvement in several markers of psychological well-being, including anxiety and depression.

Onion juice or garlic gel

Applying onion juice or garlic gel to the head or parts of the body affected by Alopecia Aria promotes hair growth. Small studies have considered these to be effective, but more research is needed.

Aromatherapy

In a small study published in the Archives of Dermatology in 19, an aromatherapy massage treatment that included a blend of thyme, rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood essential oils appeared to aid in the treatment of alopecia areata for some.

These essential oils have traditionally been used for the treatment of hair loss. However, much research is needed to determine whether they are effective, or whether massage itself is associated with hair regrowth.

Acupuncture

In preliminary research published in Medicine in Acupuncture during2013, tests on mice showed that electroacupuncture may deter some alopecia-related changes in skin cell.

Electroacupuncture is a form of acupuncture in which needles are connected to a device that produces a continuous electrical impulse and is then placed at specific points on the patient’s body.

Stress management

Stress may play a vital role in triggering episodes of alopecia areata with a victims. Although it is possible that practicing stress management techniques may provide some protection from episodes of alopecia areata, there is currently a lack of studies testing the use of such techniques in alopecia areata management.

Luck
