What is the time to change the employer pledge?

The time for employer change is a commitment to change the way we all think and work about mental health in the workplace. This commitment is supported by the 12-month Employer Action Plan, founded on the principles of the 2017 Thriving at Work Report and built over 5 years of evidence-based interventions researched by the Time to Change Employers team.

The Employer Pledge and Employer Action Plan support your organization create best practice policy and interventions to assist your employees work in ways that promote positive mental wellness. More than 1,200 organizations employing over 2 million people have now signed the Time to Change Employer Oath. The employer pledge is free and available to organizations based in England.

Why sign an employer pledge?
Mental health is an important issue that your organization cannot ignore:

Every year 1 in 4 British workers are affected by conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress. 9 out of 10 people who experience mental health problems say they face stigma and discrimination as a result. 60% of people say stigma and discrimination are harmful or more harmful than symptoms of their mental health problem, and 54% percent say they are most affected by such stigma at their place of work . Poor mental health can be a significant cost to your business:

Poor mental health costs between £ 33 billion and £ 42 billion each year by employers.

Mental illness is the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, costing an average of £ 1,035 per worker per year.

Organizations that take the pledge and put in place their action plan have found that employees are feeling more supported about issues related to mental health, are more willing to disclose their personal life experience, and managers and colleagues Are more convinced about their experience. Since signing the pledge, 95% of employers have stated that it has had a positive impact on their organization.

Invitation to a series of masterclasses held across England on key themes and topics in vertical wellbeing. Invitation to participate in time to replace the champion to train the trainer in London. Activity and resource packs enable you to easily roll out campaigns across your organization for major campaign dates throughout the year. A monthly newspaper filled with useful resources, best practice advice and case studies from other pledge organizations.
